Fire flies Banglore asrm

An inclusive secular ashram that is open to all spiritual traditions that are concerned with personal growth, social engagement and environmental action.
A community of friends and organisations who believe that the faith traditions and secular spiritualities have a major role in promoting human rights and climate justice.
A place for theological renewal and action along social and ecological lines.
The ashram is located a little outside the city of Bangalore, in Dinnepalya village, off the Kanakapura road, near a town called Kaggalipura. The city of Bangalore, now famous as an international Information Technology center, lies in the south of India. Fireflies nestles among trees, on land that slopes towards a lake. It has accommodation for visitors, as well as a meditation hall, conference hall, amphitheatre and a library.
If by Guru we mean a particular human being, there is no such person at Fireflies. Yet, the ashram has a symbolic reference, which is the Earth. This reference is all the more significant given the enormity of the ecological crisis facing humankind. The Earth is seen as sacred energy, part of the larger cosmos, from which all life has emerged. At Fireflies we believe that by experiencing Earth Spirituality, we can each discover the inner voice within ourselves.
Siddhartha, the founder of the ashram, is a writer and an activist.
